Usually a series of small holes along a path on paper or other material that helps tear off easily without the need of scissors or a knife.

Other examples of perforation

You also see perforation on paper towels and toilet paper between each sheet.

W-2 often come on perforated paper.

Sometimes insurance cards for proof of insurance to put in your car comes perforated too.

Tickets and ticket stub is another example of perforation.

Those lottery tickets usually on a roll and tear off.
