Laser printers typically have faster print speeds and produce sharper text and images than inkjet printers. They are commonly used in office environments, where high-volume printing is required, but can also be used for personal printing needs.

Laser printers come in various sizes and types, ranging from small desktop models to larger industrial machines. They can be monochrome, meaning they print only in black and white, or color, allowing for full-color printing capabilities. Laser printers are also known for their durability and can often handle heavy use over long periods without needing frequent maintenance or replacement of parts.

Laser printing is generally considered to be archive safe, meaning that documents printed using a laser printer can be expected to last a long time without fading or deteriorating significantly.

The toner used in laser printers is designed to be more resistant to fading than traditional inkjet printer ink. Additionally, laser printers use heat to fuse the toner onto the paper, which creates a more durable print that is less susceptible to smudging or running.

My work uses Ricoh brand printers, you may have seen other posts on it on this blog.

However, it’s important to note that the longevity of printed documents can depend on various factors, such as the type of paper used, environmental conditions (such as exposure to sunlight or humidity), and how the documents are stored. If documents are properly stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and other sources of damage, they can last for many years.

In summary, laser printing is generally considered to be archive safe, but it’s important to take appropriate measures to protect printed documents from damage over time.
